About Faith

I've found joy in Jesus, and I want others to find joy in Him, too.

I can't talk about me without talking about Jesus. I need Him. He saved me. He's always been faithful. He rescued me from living in darkness, and now I always want to live in His light. His light is the most beautiful, free place.

He gave me several passions: family, music and writing. This is the place I combine them and hope to help or bless you, or make you laugh, in the process. It's great for my mental health.

Family
My husband and I were married outdoors on a beautiful, rainy September afternoon. We are BFFs, and we have a lot of fun together. I am so thankful for him. He made me the proud mama of two precious boys, one born April of 2017, and one born December of 2018. Beside my husband and sons, I am deeply grateful for my wise and goofy dad, servant-hearted mom, and great friend of a brother.

Music
My first career goal was in vocal performance. I had a few stints in the elementary years, but after that I determined singing was a hobby. These days I sing on the church praise team and play cello for a wedding once in a while, and I'm still fostering hope that one day I'll start plunking out dinner music on the piano at the classy family restaurant down the road. There was also the year of the trumpet in middle school, but I've resigned myself to living without that one.

Writing
I began writing short stories almost as soon as I could string words together. My first novel was “Elaine of the Waterfall.” If I ever finish it, I’m sure it will take me places. I mostly write nonfiction at the moment - this blog, and so many book ideas scratched on everything from envelopes to an official idea collecting program on my laptop. I simply cannot stop writing. There have been a couple times I thought I should give it a rest, but I started feeling sad, and that just won’t do.

I hope you find a spot here where you can be encouraged and empowered to follow Christ with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. I love to hear from my readers, so please brighten my day by commenting or sending me an email!

  1. Hi Faith! I'm going through papers on my desk and found my airline itinerary where I wrote down your contact information. I'm the lady who talked with you all the way from Denver to Grand Rapids :) I've enjoyed reading some of your blogs and I'm encouraged by your words of devotion to the Lord. May He continue to bless you richly!
